Invert Strategies · Darren Greenfield

Pursue perspective.
Accomplish purpose.

Leading an organization is hard. Leading a life of purpose is hard. Whether it is a single life or an organization striving for greatness, it happens the same way — by investing in the pursuit of perspective.

Perspective is what I facilitate.
Clarity that leads to effectiveness and growth is what I deliver.

What I do

Four ways to get perspective before you plan

Whether the subject is an organization, a life, a soul or a diagnosis, the order is the same: see clearly first, then decide. Plans built the other way around do not survive contact with a Monday.

SERVICE 01

For organizations

Paterson StratOp®

A three-day, team-discovery process that gives you perspective on the strategic, financial and operational parts of your organization — then tells you where you stand, clarifies where you should go, and hands you a customized plan for getting there.

How does it work?

Three days together, twenty-five customized tools, six phases. Strategy is planning for tomorrow, today. Operations is taking care of today, today. StratOp integrates both, because a plan that only does one is a plane with one wing.

Why does my organization need it?

In most organizations, strategy and finance are decided at the top and rolled downhill. StratOp takes the opposite approach. The leader pulls the team together, and three days of shared perspective informs, reforms and revitalizes how the organization works — because it relies on the insight and cross-functional alignment of every department in the room.

Who has used it?

Over the last forty years, hundreds of teams — startups, churches and billion-dollar companies — have used the Paterson process to grow sales, profits and results. I hope to add your organization to that list.

What does it cost?

We talk first. Pricing is based on time and value, and the engagement is crafted around what your team actually needs. The aim is a return that pays dividends long after the three days end.

How do I start?

Email for a discovery call. We will talk through where the organization stands and whether StratOp fits before anything is scheduled or quoted. You will hear back within 24 hours.

What you walk away with

  • Perspective on every part of the organization
  • A clear core plan and strategy
  • Structure and alignment across teams
  • An action plan with owners and measures
  • A management system to run it
  • A renewal cycle, so the plan stays alive

The facilitator is process. The team is content.

SERVICE 02

For individuals

Paterson LifePlan®

The same process, turned on a single life. Two full days, one-on-one, using tools proven over fifty years and thousands of LifePlans — to discover your purpose and build a plan that holds together across every part of your life, not just the part that pays.

What is a LifePlan?

A two-day, one-on-one intensive built around four phases and five life domains. It is a whole-life audit: your talents, your story, your purpose, your vision — and the specific next steps that follow from them.

How does it work?

The first day and a half is spent entirely on perspective: where you stand today, how you got here, and what you are called to do and become — and, just as importantly, what you are not. Only in the final half day do we build the plans, plus the accountability and renewal framework that keeps them alive after you go home.

Who is it for?

Leaders at a crossroads. People carrying a decision they cannot get clear on. Anyone who has been successful at things they were never built for and can feel the cost of it. And anyone who has given a lot of thought to the future without escaping the cycle of undirected thinking.

Why perspective first?

Because the temptation is always to skip to planning. A plan built on an unexamined story just moves faster in the direction you were already drifting. Tom Paterson found that fulfillment comes when all five domains are in balance, since each one shapes the others — and you cannot balance what you have not honestly seen.

What does it cost?

We talk first. As with StratOp, the investment is built around what you actually need, and the conversation costs nothing.

How do I start?

Email for a discovery call. We will talk about where you are and whether a LifePlan is the right next step before any dates go on a calendar. You will hear back within 24 hours.

The five life domains

  • Personal
  • Family
  • Vocation
  • Faith
  • Community

Each domain gets its own plan — because progress in one at the expense of another is not progress.

What you walk away with

  • Perspective on your story and your design
  • Your life purpose, stated plainly
  • A written plan for each of the five domains
  • A clear action plan to drive it
  • Your LifePlan on a Page, to anchor and renew

The first day and a half is perspective. Planning comes last, and it comes easier.

THE PATERSON DISTINCTIVE

SERVICE 03

For people carrying something — and leaders carrying everyone else

Biblical counseling

Christ-centered discipleship. One believer using the wisdom of Scripture to help another face life’s struggles, personal suffering and sin — trusting that the Bible is sufficient to guide the human heart toward lasting change through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We counsel through grief, anxiety, depression, anger, marriage and family conflict, parenting, burnout, shame, fear and forgiveness — the patterns you have confessed a dozen times and still cannot break, and the seasons where you simply feel stuck.

What does it actually look at?

The heart, not just the behavior. Biblical counseling looks past outward actions to the internal motives and desires underneath them — what a person is actually worshipping. Behavior is usually the symptom. The affections are the thing.

How does change happen?

Not by willpower and not by technique. Lasting transformation requires the active work of God, which is why this is discipleship rather than behavior modification. Behavior modification asks you to try harder. Discipleship changes what you want.

Who do you most often work with?

A great deal of this work happens with high-impact leaders and people carrying high-stakes leadership — the ones everyone else leans on, who have nowhere to set it down. Also couples in entrepreneurship, where the marriage and the business share a ledger and a dinner table. And crisis, personal and corporate, when the ground moves faster than anyone can think.

It is the same population I facilitate through StratOp and LifePlan. Organizations get planned. The person leading them still has to be pastored. Depending on what you are carrying, that work can be engaged as biblical counseling, as a StratOp for the organization around you, or as both.

Who sits in the room?

Individuals, couples and whole families. Some things can only be worked on by the person carrying them; others cannot be worked on alone at all, because the pattern lives between people rather than inside one of them.

How often, and for how long?

Sessions run by the hour and you book them as you need them. There is no fixed package to buy into and no minimum number of weeks — some people come for a season, some come back when something surfaces.

How do I start?

Email Darren. That first exchange is the intake: what you are carrying, whether biblical counseling is the right fit, and what rhythm makes sense for you. Sessions are scheduled from there, and the rate is settled when you book the first one.

Where do we meet?

In person across the tri-state area — Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware — or over Zoom, wherever you are. Sessions carry the same weight either way; the only thing distance costs is the drive.

Does it only happen one-to-one?

No. The same convictions run as cohort intensives — a room of people working the same ground together over several weeks. The Three Layers, our current cohort, applies this to conquering ADHD through the Holy Spirit alongside standard treatment. Others will follow.

Does this replace therapy or medical care?

No. We come alongside every form of therapy and treatment that is effective in the full restoration of a flourishing life — never instead of it. If you have a physician or a therapist, keep them. If you need one, we will say so.

Core beliefs

  • Authority of Scripture — the Bible provides the primary framework for evaluating human problems and finding real solutions
  • Focus on the heart — motives and desires beneath the behavior
  • Spirit dependence — God does the changing; we do the walking alongside

How to begin

  • Individuals, couples and families
  • In person — PA, NJ and DE
  • Over Zoom — anywhere
  • Hourly sessions, booked as you need them — no required package

What we work toward

  • A call to repentance — naming ungodly patterns and replacing them with habits that honor God
  • Disciples who equip others — growing closer to Christ so you can help the next person in turn

THE CURRENT INTENSIVE

Cohort intensives · now forming

The Three Layers — a 4-week clinical intensive on ADHD

Black. Adult. Christian. And Just ADHD.

Biblical counseling applied to one condition: conquering ADHD through the Holy Spirit, alongside standard treatment. Capacity, Function and Fruit is what this approach looks like when the problem is ADHD. Four sessions, two hours each — you leave with a written plan, an accountability partner, and language for what has been happening your entire life.

If you are both the practitioner and the person with ADHD, you are not an exception here — you are why this reads honestly.

Capacity ROMANS 12:1–2

What treatment restores. The brain God gave you, given what it needs.

Function 1 PETER 1:13

What systems convert. The structure that carries the capacity through an ordinary week.

Fruit JOHN 15:8

What only the Spirit grows. Direction, identity, perseverance — and much fruit.

Concentric layers: Capacity, Function and Fruit, with an arrow toward Stewardship

Starts in the brain. Ends in fruit.
Treatment restores it · the Spirit drives it

01

The willing spirit

Treat the body. Strengthen the spirit. Commit in the body, conquer through the Spirit.

02

Everyday stewardship

Abiding in Jesus. Thriving through systems.

03

Work & calling

Focused in Spirit-led action, not just participating in flesh-fulfilling activity.

04

Dating & marriage

Available, responsible and reliable — not just painfully present.

The divergence is not the sin. The surrender is.

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.”
